Specialized sports orthopedics for fast and sustainable recovery

The focus of the Sports Orthopedics Section is the surgical treatment of acute injuries of the musculoskeletal system as well as degenerative damage to the large joints. Our section specializes in the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle joints. The primary goal is to restore the function of the injured joint. To this end, we offer reconstructive procedures, replacement, or corrective surgeries.

Soft tissue injuries of the musculoskeletal system, particularly tendon and muscle tears, are also part of our treatment spectrum. Whenever possible, minimally invasive surgical techniques (arthroscopy) are used, which generally enable early mobilization and a rapid return to normal function in everyday life, work, and sports.

Our spectrum includes:

Shoulder

Shoulder pain has many causes. A precise diagnosis allows for the selection of the optimal treatment—conservative or surgical. Modern procedures ensure the best possible treatment results.

Elbow

Elbow pain has many causes—from overuse to injury. A precise diagnosis determines the optimal treatment, whether conservative or surgical.

Knee joint

The knee is a complex joint, and damage can occur due to accidents or excessive strain. A targeted diagnosis enables the appropriate treatment, from physiotherapy to surgery.

Upper ankle joint

Injuries and wear and tear of the ankle joint are common. While minor ligament injuries usually heal conservatively, complex injuries require targeted treatment.

Cartilage damage

Regenerative procedures are used for clearly defined cartilage damage. The choice of technique depends on the size of the defect.

Bone-cartilage

For limited cartilage and bone defects, the transplantation of autologous cylinders is a proven therapy – in the knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease, usually caused by excessive strain or misalignment. The consequences of accidents can further promote wear and tear.

Tendons & muscles

With increasing athletic activity, muscle and tendon injuries increase. Targeted diagnostics enable the right treatment for a quick recovery.
